When to go
Cabo's year in three seasons
The weather is reliable for much of the year. Demand for aircraft, and for ramp space at SJD, is not.
December to April
Dry, sunny and busy
Peak season, with whales offshore through the winter. Holidays and spring break fill the ramp, so book early.
May to July
Hot and quieter
Fewer crowds, warm seas and easier aircraft availability. Late spring is a favorite for golf and fishing.
August to October
Storm season
The highest chance of tropical storms. Trips are still common; plan with some flexibility on dates.

All questionsHow long is the flight to Cabo?
Roughly 2 hours from Scottsdale, 2h 25m from Los Angeles, 2h 40m from Dallas, 3 hours from Denver and about 5h 30m from New York. Winds and the aircraft change these estimates.
Can a light jet fly to Cabo nonstop?
From California, Arizona, Texas and Colorado, usually yes. From the East Coast, a nonstop flight normally needs a super-midsize jet or larger; smaller aircraft stop for fuel on the way.
Does everyone need a passport?
Yes, a valid passport book for every traveler, children included. A US passport card does not work for international flights. Entry rules can change, so we confirm the current requirements with your operator before you fly.
When is the best time to go?
December to April is dry and sunny and is also the busiest time. Late spring is quieter and hot. August to October carries the most storm risk.
Can our dog come to Cabo?
Many operators accept dogs once they have approved them. Animals are checked on arrival in Mexico, and dogs returning to the US face their own import rules, so we check the current paperwork with you before the trip.
